  1. I think that what we can take from The Crucible is not to lie. I say, not to lie because of all of the consequences it can lead you to. Things that are difficult to get away from can make it hard for you. Listen to yourself and do what you believe is correct in your heart. Not Listen to what others think and be petty be who you ant yourself to be. I think you should just have the proper morals for yourself.

  2. The major lesson demonstrated through The Crucible was that government has several faults and flaws, despite its built-up as seemingly perfect and second-to-none. In The Crucible, the leaders of Salem actually believed in witchcraft - something that is considered a myth in the here and now. Like the people of Salem, Miller himself went through government condemnation during the 1950s during the "Hollywood Blacklist", so he had a real-life experience of a government that had little understanding of reality. The government is a collective group of human beings, just like everyone else, meaning none of them are perfect and, in The Crucible especially, that was shown beyond belief.

  3. From The Crucible, I think that readers can learn how to deal with enemies, and realize who their real friends are. I think that people that have conniving ways could learn some more plots and schemes in order to get what they want, like Abigail did by ganging up on so many people, just to clear her name. I think that from the book, people could also learn moral values. I think people could learn that deep down inside they will always do what they believe is right, not to spoil their name or reputation. As did John Proctor when he realized that lying just to stay alive was not really moral for him.

  4. A lesson that come to mind is a quote said by Obiwan Kenobe, "Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them." Although the events from the play show that you can't trust everyone else either. What I learned is that the world will tell you that up is down, you decide whether to believe it.

  5. The Crucible is very different from the time period that we are in now. Even so there are many ways that lessons can be learnd and applied to today. The Crucible shows that some people will stick to their morals and die and others rather go against their morals. Ultimately the Crucible is a book because it shows what someone will do when faced with a life or death situation

  6. The lesson of the you can take away from the Crucible is be true to yourself. Tell the truth never lie. You should tell the truth no matter if it hurts anyone. That"s the lesson you should take out of the Crucible.

  7. I don't think there are any lessons we can take from The Crucible but your actions or lies can be the result of you and someone elses death and don't always follow after your society or someone in it because it could get you in some sticky situations.

  8. we can take a lot of things from the crucible. one thing that I took from the play and the movie was to be careful in what you do and believe. Abigail Williams was a prime example as she was caught practicing witchcraft and almost got hung for it. unfortunately, know one believed her and she ran away but this was one lesson I took from it.

  9. The lesson we can take from The Crucible is don't talk on what your eyes didn't see, never speak on what you jus heard. Assumptions aren't always the truth, and you know what they say about people who make assumptions. I feel as though you should not put anything pass anyone because people are capable of anything.

  10. Lessons we can take from The Crucible is not to blame other people by using false information. Also not to use personal anger to motivate you in your actions. The Crucible has a lot of lessons and things that still happen today.

  11. Important lessons could be taken from the play, "The Crucible". Lessons such as taking blame for your actions because in the play,Abigail Williams had to learn the hard way because she made so many excuses. Another lesson like, not committing adultery because in the play, john Proctor did such. John Proctor had relations with Abigail Williams and had to take on the consequences for his actions.

  12. I think that people should be aware of how much we can get swept up in hysteria and what bad things can occur when we do. He is saying that we tend to lose our heads when we are afraid of something. He is warning us that we tend to blame other people when we are scared. I think that we should take responsibility but we don't think that way under pressure so we should sit back and think first.

  13. I think one lesson that we could take away is that our choices really do affect us and sometimes the people around us. Just like in the Crucible, people were being falsely accused of something that they truly were not, but yet people just kept pointing the finger at one another, because they were afraid of the consequences.

  14. The lessons that you can take from The Crucible is that never trust what you hear about people. Another lesson is never be sneaky because they can come back and haunt you a long time. Always stay true to your friends because friends can be the only people you have and can trust but sometimes they can turn on you too.

  15. A lesson that I took from The Crucible is that you should not always believe what people say. I say this because in the book a lot of innocent people were killed because the words of young lying girls. Do what you have to do to help yourself and others that you care about. I say this because Goody Proctor did what she had to so she could save herself and try to save her husband. Do not trust people that lie on others and be fake. When the girls were in court and Mary wanted to tell the truth she got blamed for being a witch and sending spirits on tot eh girls. Do not always believe what you hear because the in the play everyone was going crazy. A lot of people were being accused and they were dying left and right. Always stay true to yourself and do not let anyone tell you what to do. In the play all of the little girls were jus following Abigail because they did not know what else to do. They were not independent. Last, do not always blame others for what you do. Abigail blamed all of these people for what she was doing and became banned from Salem.

  16. In the Americas there was always a superstition about everything. Whether it was witchery, fascism, communism and even today with terrorism. Back then punishment for the accused are harsh but as progression happened it is not as bad. Not a lot of people would willing to help the accused, because if they do they would be blamed as well. This is so because a majority of the people would be against the accused. So no one would want to go against that. More people should stand with them whether they were guilty or not. If not then if the accused were innocent then they would be punished for no reason.

  17. There are many valuable lessons learned in The Crucible. People should be aware of how much we can get swept up in hysteria and what bad things can occur when we do. We tend to lose our heads when we are afraid of something, which isn't good at all depending on the circumstance. You should never believe a suspicious story unless you have proven facts.

The lessons you can take from The Crucible is to never trust what you hear because it can always be a lie. Also another lesson would be never trust the people your close to you because then they become your enemy. Including another lesson would be you die for the people you love or die for your family name.

  19. The lesson I learned for the crucible is simple. You should never lie. Lies are the root of evil and push you away for your purity. Abigail was the biggest liar in the book and she was living a life of guilt. Someone who knows what they are doing is wrong and continues to do it, knowing it is or will hurt someone is going to feel guilty. The crucible made any lie look like an ungodly thing. We live in a social where people will tell you that little white lies are fine and lying is okay sometimes. Salem was completely against a liar and said anyone who lies is damned by god. This is a huge difference because you could lose your life for lying in Salem and you could in our society today but no one really relates it to god.

  20. From what I took away from The Crucible, I believe the message to be that there will always be people that are unjust. Those unjust people will without a doubt find ways to put any opposition down. Fearing for their lives and the lives of others, people will bow their heads before them. Worry not, do not waver. It's easy to say "Fight for what you believe is right, even if you have to pay for it," but it is they that suffer the lash of insubordination towards evil that leave their marks on history and our perceptions of right and wrong. Whatever cruelties present themselves, do not falter in the face of injustice. Go out speaking the truth and nothing but the truth, and you shall have left your name polished on this Earth.

  21. The Crucible is very different from today. Even so there are many ways that lessons can be learnd from the book and what goes on. The Crucible book shows that some people with go with their beliefs and die for what they believe in and some will go against their morals.

  22. I think The Crucible is an overall learning experience. One main thing we can learn is that lying does not make the situation better. As seen in the movie and the book, it was one lie to start with and for it to all end, many other lies had be told. Another lesson to be learned is that you can't always have your way. Abigail thought she could get away with everything but when she didn't, she ran away like a coward.

  23. The lessons that we can take from the Crucible is not to believe accusations. Accusations can be false until proven. If you accuse someone of doing something, you have to have evidence to back up why you accused that person. Abigail told lies about everyone and told the court who compacted with the devil. But there was no evidence of those people ever compacting with the devil. Don't accuse someone of doing something just because of vengeance and anger.

  24. What I learned from The Crucible is that I can not just listen to what people say because it may not be the turth

  25. I think the lesson we could take away from the story is, we need to know the people we put in power are actually smart enough to do their job. We could learn that before believing someone's word we have to know what other motives they could have and we could learn that we need someone to check the people in power if they don't act right so they cannot just get out of it
    By using their power.

  26. Some lessons that we can take from the crucible today is to show sincerity when you are in trouble. Show sincerity by confessing so you will not get in trouble. Also, put the blame on someone else, so that they are now a suspect and suspicion is limited from you. You have to do what it is to protect yourself, rather than what is really right .

  27. The lesson I took from The Crucible is not to saying something is going on because everyone else is . Let actions that you've seen yourself be used evidence . Another thing is not to trust many , cause having a big circle of people you be with on a regular increase your chances of problems. The crucible also revealed how people are when they are a down time period in life

  28. From after reading The Crucible, the lessons I think we can take from the play is that people should always be there own person. It's your life and you can only live for yourself. People should have no dictatorship on your life. Another lesson could is to stop believing rumors and accusations on people. Although sometimes they're false and sometimes they are true. It leads harm to innocent people and should be stop. Also standing up for your rights is good. If you have different beliefs from others, stick to yours, and stand up for what you believe in.

  29. The Crucible is a pretty difficult thing to apply to life when you think of things then and now. But, to me I believe it teaches those that power is corrupt. This is because, Abigail felt power during the play. Well, at first of course she did it to get out of trouble but in the end, she knew she had power. Even the courts had power and felt pride during their trials which is why they didn't see a need to end it. But the whole power struggle is insane. People feel it and they get greedy until nothing is left, and that's what happened to Abigail. She had the horrible power struggle.

  30. I believe the lesson we could take away from the story is, stay in school. I learned that the people placed in higher power may not always be as intelligent as expected. They might be superior in power but not in common since. I also learned that you can trust everyone and i learned that people will go to the extreme to ruin you if your relationship fallout. The crucible displayed people who are loyal and also flat out deceitful and grimy individuals.

  31. The lesson we can learn from The Crucible is that you only get one name ad you should wan to keep it clean. Also we can learn that someone's word could cause you your life. This shows the power that the government gives to people.

  32. From the crucible I learned that not everything people say is always true. I also learned that you can not always believe in what people say regardless of how true you think they are. And the people in charge don't always know what's right. And you should always try and prove your innocence.

  33. The lessons I've learned from The Crucible today is that if you want something and it causes problems more than it should be just let it go. I also learned that when you over something don't go off what people pretend that happening look at the hardcore evidence shown. Lastly you can't get away with murder literally, you have to stand up and face your obstacles that you created and find a good and smart way out of it.

  34. The lessons I believe we can take from the crucible is that at the time that you wrote this the United States was not very open to new ideas and very judgmental of anybody who had ideas such as these. also I believe that a lesson in humility could be taken from his work. gently due to the speculations of communism arising in the American populace he was one of very few people who are willing to actually speak out with think to speak out against with the general public was thinking. that being said another lesson that can be taken from this is the lesson of bravery in which she actually did speak out against me even though the play was not published until sometime after he still had the strength to speak out even though the allegations of people being communist whatever just freshly put to rest liberally speaking. however those people are very stubborn and complacent on the idea of communism in America even though you cannot at this time legally accuse them have them arrested people still socially patronized the people they were weary of.

  35. I think The Crucible is an overall learning experience as well with Brielle response because the main thing people can learn is that lying does not get anyone no where, no matter how much people keeps lying to make the fraud speaking seem as the truth. As it was written in the book and act in the movie, lies had been told to keep things suited for the one and followers but not the community. Another thing was that you can't just worry about yourself, you must worry about the others around you. In the book and movie, Abby thought she could run away from the truth that caught on to her lies, but she couldn't, well mentally at least, because as she fled she realize she put her love of her life to death and couldn't deal with the guilt. Well i believe Abby dear not to deal with her feelings.

  36. The lesson I earned from the crucible was stand up for what is right and what believe. I learned this by paying attention to the character of John Proctor. Although John started to sale out to be with his family he wouldn't let society curse his name. Which I also agree was the right thing to do. But I did not only learn this lesson from this book, I also saw this as the theme from last quarter.

  37. I think we can take various lessons from The Crucible especially because it is a true story. One of the lessons is to always try and be honest because a little white lie can soon try into a huge catastrophe and also end up hurting people whom you did not mean to, like Abigail did with John Proctor. I also think we can take the lesson that not everyone who is in power, for example the courts in The Crucible, is always right. Just because people have a higher authority than you does not necessarily mean that they always know what is right and best for everyone around them. The last lesson people can take from The Crucible is to be careful who you associate yourself with for they may be the very person who is backstabbing you, like Mary Warren did with John Proctor.

  38. The lessons that people can learn from the Crucible is that people can change and switch up on you just to get what they want in life. I say this because in the play the girls of Salem accused people that they disliked or did not want around any more with being involved with witchcraft. Another lesson that people can learn is that by standing up for what you believe in, you can have a sense of pride and confidence in yourself although it may have some consequences. The Crucible was a play full of snakes and backstabbers and it is similar to the real world because people will do messed up things to ruin your rep.

  39. The lesson we can take from the Crucible today is that we need to look at all the facts and not what the majority says because that will not always be the correct way to make the decision. Also that fear can Kurupt the society and will bring it down around them.

  41. The lesson we can take from the Crucible is do not always trust the people around because they can turn on you, so their world would not turn upside down. They only think about their selves and not other people. The shows Crucible how people are expected on how they suppose to be.

  42. The lessons you can take away from the Crucible is to watch your back and who you encounter yourself with because people will switch up on you when they see you wont please them anymore. I say this because Abagail first turned on John Proctor by accusing his wife, thinking it would get her closer to him and the group of females who first turned on Tituba, then the towns people, then in the in Mary Warren to save themselves. It also tells you the lesson of sticking up for what you believe in, like Giles, who died because he didnt want to tell the name of information he got. Also, John Proctor stood up to what he believe because he wouldnt sign the confession because he knew he wasnt a liar and he knew that eventually the townspeople and the judges would have to live with the fact that they killed innocent people once they found out the witchcraft rumor wasnt real.

  43. The lesson that could be taken from the Crucible is don't blame innocent people of doing something they did not do. Another lesson would be is to not pressure someone into doing something to get you out of trouble. This is said because all in the end Abigail cause for so many familes to get hurt.

  44. The lesson we can learn from The Crucible is every man for themselves. People will do just about anything to save them. You must always keep an eye out on others especially the people you love must because they will turn on quickly just to save themselves from trouble.

  45. I believe that we can learn a lot from the crucible book but the main thing we can take is to stay true to what you believe. Throughout the story you could see how these different characters change there mind some many different times. I feel as though if you know the truth then tell it . You should not lie because you put other people in trouble. In the crucible so many people got in trouble because of the lies Abigail and her friends told.

  46. I think the lessons we can take from the crucible today is that people shouldn't confess to things that they didn't do to save themselves. Also, do what you think is right not what others think is right because in the end you have to live with the decisions you make nobody else. Lastly, don't ruin someone else's life to save your own, that is so wrong and you shouldn't blame anyone for your wrong doings.

    ReplyDelete
  47. A lesson we can take from The Crucible is that selling out might be easy to do, but it shows who are true to themselves and who isn't. Abigail forced other girls to follow after her lead when talking about being witchcraft. Although, the girls know whats the truth, they fake as if they were being attacked by "Devil's Men". Tituba lied just to stop from being whipped, but she still made things worst and more hectic by lying. On the other hand, Proctor died because he wouldn't admit to being the Devil's Man and they wouldn't leave his name in good if he did. He showed an act of courage and he's an example of people who be true to themselves.

  48. The part of Obama life that sticks out the most Is when he & his mother move to Indonesia, there his mother's husband Lolo takes him under his wing. Firing a conversation the two was having, Lolo begins to inform Barrack about strength and power. Lolo tells Barrack the two types of men in the world, strong and weak, he let's Barrack know that only strong men succeed, most of the time from the weak man. He informs him the only way he can survive in this world is by being strong or clever with a strong person by your side. This stuck out to me because I believe this helped shape Obama's mind set, you may not be the strongest or the weakest but as long as you are clever there is no problem that you cannot find a solution for.
