When the Pilgrims first arrived at Cape Cod, they had no experience and had no survival skills. When winter arrived, about half of them died due to the harsh weather and lack of proper winter clothing. The Native Americans taught them how to make clothing, find food, and plant food. If i were among them, i would be grateful of the Native Americans for teaching m survival skills because without them there probably wouldn't be any more of us pilgrims;.

When they first arrived at Cape Cod, they were on their own when it came to resources like food and housing because they didn't know anyone there. What was important to them was staying together and finding housing. They wanted to keep their traditional ways.I would feel worried if i was among them because we didn't have any food, or a place to stay and the winter was approaching. How would we survive on this new land that we are not use to.
ReplyDeleteWhen coming to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, the English Puritans adjusted to their new world by trying to understand the land. They tried to create churches and other religious facilities. They also asked how to survive from others on the land. With the new information, they made it far. Keeping their religious views and expressing their beliefs were important to them. Their core values were that if you sinned, you will go to hell unless you repent. If I were among them, I would feel angry because I will feel as though I have no say in how I live my life.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Pilgrims for arrived to Massachusetts they had trouble adjusting to their new life. They fled England to purse religious freedom. The first winter was brutal because they didn't know the land very well. When they arrived they thought God sent on a religious quest, and in order to be saved they robbed the Natives or Savages as the Pilgrims called them. The Puritans wanted to change the church of England. They believed that if you were saved you acted graceful and if you were not than you would be consider disobedient and they will be ostracized by the Puritans. If I was a Pilgrim I would be scared because we don't have any food, we don't know the land very well and we are living among a land full of savages. God knows his ways and I know he put us on this land for a reason and I will not repine.
ReplyDeleteWhen the pilgrims first arrived to Cape Cod, they were grateful that they finally became free, but all things changed once they realized the conditions of the New Land. First of all they got there in the winter time. it was extremely cold and food was scarce. They also had a few issues with the natives. Their religion was so important to them that it almost blinded the way you would look at things normally. I would feel upset or even regretful that I came all the way out to a New Land for bad conditions like that.
ReplyDeleteThe English Puritans came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony confused over how to survive in the new world. They adjusted, however, by asking Natives for help. They retained this way of living and adapted quickly, becoming one with the land. Keeping their way of living and religious mind sets were of the most importance for them. Their core values were that your bad decisions made you evil, and unless you ask God for forgiveness, you would be sent to hell. On the other side, if you were good and did good things, you would be rewarded in heaven. If I were among them, I would feel conflicted because I would not want to be scorned for not agreeing and looked down upon, but I do not fully agree with them either.
ReplyDeleteWhen they first arrived, they were very curious as to where they were and who was there. They were not prepared for the weather, and had to look for food and shelter. It was important that they stayed together as a team, and following God. Everything was based off of God and sinful behaviors with punishments. If I was among them, I would probably call them crazy, because they allowed their religious beliefs blind them of what is really reality.

What was important to them was god since they were high believers in him and believed he brought them to that land for a purpose. Their core vaules were religion and also being saved do to you being graceful for what u got. If i were among them i think i coudlnt do it becuase during that time line it was extremly dull and boring and you couldnt really do as much like you can now.
ReplyDelete•How would you feel if you were among them? Why?
Diseases is what caused the pilgrims to die they had to adjust to new world challenges such as building shelter and finding food they believed in God so they depended on him this is important because we need to acknowledge what they went through and be fortunate for what we have today.if I was with them I would not be happy I hate starting over and infectious diseases would creep me out plus the whole build this and find that would upset me because I don't like to build things and I can't cook so finding food and trying to cook it to I would die of starvation I lack survival skills and they lacked that to
ReplyDeleteWHen they first arrived they had to start a brand new life because everything was so different to what they were used too. They had to adapt differently than before. Even thought things were about to get hard they were just happy to be on land. They were happy to be free.IT was hard for them but them managed to work and figure things out. They built little "Homes" and found food for theirselves to survive. Founding found was hard because when they arrived it was winter time and no food was growing because of the time in season. Education of the next generation was important to them. it was their core vaules. I would feel lost because im having to adapt to a brand new war but then again im excited because im finally free. They are so brave and courageous !

First off they had little supplies but a lot of people who wanted to start their new lives on the new frontier. They were deeply rooted to their religion which I think helped them a lot through hard times.vlastly they didn't have a form of government yet but priest were the leaders because they were considered saved by god.
ReplyDeleteThe puritans had a hard life when they came to a new world. God was everything to them and they believed everything and he brought them there for a reason. Nearly half the settlers died during the first winter due to the poor conditions and troubles of preparation due to their survival. The importance of the Puritans was understanding the Bible in every way, their religion and finding new land. Puritans core values were their religion and God's providence. If I were among them I would feel worried due to lack of food/ starvation, shelter and adapting to new land.

If I had to hang out with them it would be scared. I would be scared because we don't have no survival skills to find food for us to eat.
DeleteThe Puritans had a hard time adjusting to the New World. No matter what, though, God was their top priority and they believed that everything he did for them, he did for a purpose, one they would by question. They had to learn a lot from the natives to survive on the land too, which it seems they took for granted after they got all that they needed. If I was one of them, I would probably be mad that we moved to a new place that we knew nothing about but I would have to suck it up and just adjust like everyone else did.
ReplyDeleteWhen The Puritans Settled it was hard for them to adjust to their environment because they didn't know how to survive it these type of conditions. The Natives thought them skills to help them survive. I would be thank full to the natives for helping them in this type of situation

ReplyDeleteThe life for the Puritans was really bad most would say, because they were moving from place to place trying to find food and a place to stay. What was important to the Puritans was to find land and turn it into a new life for them. When they first arrived at the Cape Cod, they had no skills or anything. Then when the winter came around a lot of they Pilgrims died. If I would have been one of the Pilgrims I would sad and upset. Because their life was pretty much of living on your own without any help. They had to travel place to place to find food, which made it hard when the seasons were changing.
ReplyDeletewhen the Puritan arrived, the struggled to adapt to a new environment, they did not know how to surieve in these conditions. they adapt by getting taught skills by the natives, that already knew what the conditions were like. god was the most important to them. I would feel okay around them because they are caring people
ReplyDeleteWhen the English Puritans first arrived at cape code adjusting to the environment was difficult for them. It was difficult for them because, they did not know exactly how to survive and maintain in these type of living conditions. Also some of the Puritans died because they couldn't handle the climate changes, and the environment didn't have goods and services. Their religion was important to them because they believe that GOD sent them their for a reason. And God was their main focus. They were very religious. If I were among them I'd probably feel dumb, I wouldn't know any survival skills just like them and I honestly don't know how I'd react around religious people. It would be like a different experience for me.
ReplyDeleteAt first the puritans could not adjust to the new land, they were afraid of wild animals. They also new that there were Indians living on the land. They tried to and build fires and fences to shield themselves and they had arms making them feel safe, but they got sick and started dying because they got infected with a disease as a result of lack of vitamin c, and because they could farm or grow anything, because of the snow and the cold. The most important thing to them was pleasing God, shelter and food. And this was important to them because they believed that God owned everything and controlled everything, and because they wanted to be counted among the holy ones they would do anything. I don't really know how I would feel, but I don't think living with them will be any difficult.
ReplyDeletePuritans had a pretty rough life in the beginning. Life was difficult for them because when they first arrived they were not prepared. When arriving to Cape Cod they were met by harsh weather conditions and illness. They were unprepared because they did not have any food or weapons. The Puritans adjusted to the new living by meeting the pilgrims. The pilgrims taught them valuable lessons. Things that were important to them was learning how to survive so they could conquer the land. I would of been angry because we traveled that long way to face bad conditions and die from illnesses.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Purtians first arrived they had difficulties adjusting to their environment. They were not too sure on how to survive, they did not know what resources they had. They were ecstatic to be free but wondered of their surroundings. Their main objective in life was basically to please God. If you were saved, by God, then you were considered graceful and if you were not then you were not graceful at all. If I roamed amongst them during their arrival I would be just as curious and amazed as them. I think of myself as a creative person so I would be able to adapt. Using simplistic items to create bigger and better and more useful tools.
ReplyDeleteIn the Massachusetts Bay Colony, the English Puritans found it challenging adjusting to their new world. They were on their own for food and shelter. They didn't know anyone. They were very connected to God and wanted to keep their traditional ways of doing things. If I was in the condition that they're in, I would be scared because I wouldn't know anybody. I would also be worried and cautious of my surroundings because I woudn't be used to that environment.
ReplyDelete1.) The Puritans adjusted to the New World successfully. They used the American Indians to learn the survival skills necessary for living there. Once they had the information they needed, they did away with the American Indians and started to thrive.
ReplyDelete2.) They cared about their religion more than anything else. They always made sure that church was at the center of their communities.
3.) I would have had ambiguous feelings if I was a Puritan. I would have been regretful for leaving Europe only to find a place of total non-civilization. But at the same time, I would have been excited to see what would be to come for me and the rest of the Puritans in the New World.
The Puritans had a hard time adjusting to the new world. They had trouble with infections they started to get sick and started dying. They were unprepared for the new lifestyle they had no weapons or any food. Their main concern was God they wanted to please him. If I was among them it would be kinda hard to adapt to new surroundings but I would do my best to make the best out of what I already had.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Puritian first arrives to their destined location they didn't fit in quite well with the weather. The winters were vey harsh and cold due to the weather it affected their eniviorment, making the soil less rich and the crops weren't able to grow.Puritans held their religon very dearly to their heart and practiced it on a daily but it was also very important to make sure they kept themselves alive. If I was a Puritan and believed in the same vaules as they did I would go and seek for freedom but what I would have been the one in the group to make make better planning because they clearly weren't prepared.
ReplyDeletethey adjusted slowly. they weren't use to things and struggled along the way. they relied heavily on their religion. they made their churches in the center of their towns and went every sunday. if someone didn't have the same beliefs then they would be ostracized.
ReplyDeleteFor the English Puritans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony life was difficult. It was considered difficult because they believed everything to be of religious beliefs. However, things weren't. Things were equally divided amongst everyone and their different religions. If I were among those type of people I would be annoyed a little. I would be annoyed because not everyone will believe what they believe and everyone is obligated to their own beliefs.
ReplyDeleteIt was difficult for the pilgrims to adjust to life when they first arrived to Massachusetts and could not really adjust to the to the cold and bitter weather. They had to deal with certain illnesses . The Natives helped them to adjust to life teaching them how to find food and make clothing. God was the most important thing to them they wanted to worship him and glorify him. They never stopped worshipping him even when they had bad luck They believed that if you were saved you suppose to act gracefully and if you were not than you are disobedient and then you will be ostracized by the Puritans. If I was them I would still keep worshipping God but I would also feel hopeless , I would feel scared that im never perfect enough for them and god.
ReplyDeleteThe Puritans at first had a hard time adjusting to the land. over time they saw that it can become good use for their people. the most important to them was their building of church and homes. importing goods will be useful to them. the core values of their movement to break free from others and to have a direct relationship with god. I will feel that I should be the leader in order to make a better community for everyone. also I would do my best to make everyone a better person.
ReplyDeleteThe English Puritand h&m really had a hard time adjusting to their new world. They were on their own for food and shelter. Life was hard for them because when they first arrived they were not prepared. It was difficult for them because, they did not know exactly how to survive and maintain in these type of living conditions. I don't know how I would react towards this but I defintly would have to be prepared.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Pilgrims first arrived at Cape Cod, they had no experience and had no survival skills plus it was difficult for them to adjust to the cold weather as well as the land. Life was pretty difficult for them. There were many diseases and illnesses they had. The natives helped them survive to the land better teaching them how to make clothes and food. They worshiped and respected god. If I were one of them I would continue to worship god. But at the same time I would also be scared because that I am not perfect enough for god.
ReplyDeleteThey adjust very slowly because when they first arrvied they had no type of experinence or no type of survival skills, also it was very difficult to adjest to the harsh cold weather and to the newly land.what was important to them was there religiouion how they thought they should build a church first. If i was one of them i would alwasy put god first and learn the survival skills to live life.
ReplyDeleteThe pilgrims had a difficult time adjusting to their new world because they had no experience and they need someone to guid them. Religion was very important to them and they basically went about everything reffering to god. If i was among them I probably would feel uncomfortable like I didn't fit in becuase of how they do things. Especially because they travel somewhere not even having a plan I could do that I would definately need a plan.
ReplyDeleteThe pilgrims adjust to cape cod slow and unprepared. When they arrived they had no shelter or no one to turn to. It was tough for them because they were infected with diseases in the winter time brought upon them by their voyage. Their god was important to them because when they got to cape cod they prayed and thank him for their safe arrival. If I were among them I would feel sad because they had nothing and no one cared to even help them out.
ReplyDeletePuritans had a hard time adjusting to the new world. They didn't have anybody to depend on. Their core beliefs were that everything that happens was because of God. I am the same way because everything that happens, happens for a reason.
ReplyDeleteThey adjusted very slow because they were inexperience and didn't know the environment well. Also It was hard for them to adapt because of several diseases developing, spreading and killing a lot of their people. Anoth reason is they didn't know survival skills for instance building shelters it making clothing , so the natives came along and helped them out. They believed that if you were saved you act graceful and if you were damned you acted disobedient. Their core values was to become free and have just an relationship with God. If I were them I'd be scared and worried because one I am unfamiliar withe the environment and two I do not know anything about surviving and adapting to a new place
ReplyDeleteIt took time for the puritans to adjust to the new world because they didn't know anything about their new surroundings and once they arrived at cape cod a smaller group went off and found Plymouth and that then became the place where the puritans would begin their new lives their core values was that God would take care of everything and they really didn't have to do anything but believe in him when they came across the natives and was taught how to survive by making clothes shoes and other necessities the natives were believed to gift from God I think I would feel differently than the puritans would because I think that God gives us gifts and such but I also think that he gives us things that we have to work for and it seems to me that the puritans are just sitting and waitng for God to do something for them rather than trying to do it for themselves
ReplyDeleteWhen the English puritans arrived to the cape cod in Massachusetts they fell to their knees and ÿblessed the god of heaven who brought them arcoss rough oceans. The first thing they had to adjust the land was how they didn't know anyone when they arrived to the island to welcome them. They also we're not used too the weather and the first winter a few died and there was barely any food. So they knew that if you believed in god then you are saved and will be rewarded in heaven. If I were among them I would feel sorta upset, because going to an island like that would make me like I was going there to fall into a trap with conditions like that and being judged on from heaven for not being good.
ReplyDeleteIt took time for the puritans to adjust because they had recently come from a place that is different than the one that they had inhabited. They had to get use to a new environment and didn't have any one to help them but each other and God. God was the puritans everything things happened because of him or didn't happen. The puritans heavily relied on God for everything. The native Americans were considered a gift from good because they were able to teach the settlers how to make things that are necessary for life. I think I wouldn't fit in with the puritans because I bel that somethings God does give us but there are other times where he gives us a plan and we have to act it out

ReplyDeleteIt was difficult for the pilgrims to adjust to life when they first arrived to Massachusetts and could not really adjust to the cold weather with no way Of finding food and shelter. The Native Americans and their leader were the only way they survived. The Native Americans showed them how catch their food and make their own clothes. God was their first priority. Non-stop they would worship him, even when they were out of luck They believed that if you were saved you should act gracefully and if you were not than you are disobedient and then you would be shunned by the Puritans. If I was one of them I would believe in God and what he does except lost hopeless in my religion of faith.
ReplyDeletePuritans adjusted slowly. They had the help of Native Indians. Without Native Indians Puritans would have died off. Instead they spread diseases and killed Native Indians. I would not want to be a Puritan because they look at the bad in people but they are bad themselves. That is a huge contradiction and does not make much since to me.
ReplyDeleteIt took the people a little while to adjust to their new home. Especially in a whole new country. What was important to them was that everyone was healthy and everyone still held on to their religion. If I was one of them I would do everything it was necessary in order to survive in the new world. In those times it was basically survival of the fittest when it came to gaining freedom, independence, and being able to see another day.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Puritan first arrived on Cape Cod they were in for a rude awakening. The Puritans had no experience on living in this new world. When they first arrived they lacked survival skills and approximately half of them died that first winter. Puritans prided themselves on religion, and God was a huge factor. They believed that everything was done by the grace of God. Eventually the Puritans established a relationship with the native americans that they were once feuding with. The native americans taught the Puritans vital survival skills, in order for them to adjust to the new land. If I were to put myself in the position of being a Puritan coming to a new land, I would feel scared and alone. Considering the fact that they took a long journey across the Atlantic Ocean what if the New World was nothing like they thought it would be? To add, being a Puritan during this time meant that instead of doing things for themselves they believed that God would pave the way for them. Ultimately, I would not react well to this setting, considering I'm used to living a lavish lifestyle, where everything is pretty much established and this is just a big world that I am living in.
ReplyDeleteThe life of the English Puritans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony was very hard because they lived like savages. They started to adjust to area by communicating with the Indians. the Indians helped the Puritans become better adapted to the weather and learn good survival skills. What was very important to them was the grace of God , because they were very religious. Since, they relied on God so much, they felt as though everything would be fine because they believed everything would be alright according to your faith in God. If I was ever a Puritan, I would be very afraid of what would really happen to me and curious about my belief in God, because everything would different and hard to adapt too and the only person I could rely on would be God. I would start to question my belief to the fullest extent.
ReplyDeleteInitially, the settlers had problem settling such as, diseases, no knowledge on how to hand craft things like making a canoe or using the environment to their advantage. But then they met the Native Americans, the group the settlers used to help them with everything. The only thing the settlers had that they praised was their religion, they believe God was the answer to everything. If I were one of the settlers, I think I would be more prepared, unlike they were because I would think of all the bad things that could happen while moving to a new land, and how they could be prevented.
ReplyDeleteThe Puritans took a while to adjust to the new land. This was due to the fact that they had no idea of the new land compared to the one they were coming from before. They also couldn't survive the could climates due to the lack of shelter and more Puritans were dying off due to the lack of food. That caused about half of the crew to die off in about two months after discovering the land. By getting help from the Native Indians the Puritans would not have survived. Living in a circumstance like this would be extremely difficult being that everybody was unexperienced. I also dont think that I would be one of the Puritans to survive the entire journey.
ReplyDeleteThe way the Puritans adjusted to their new world was by creating their society first. After that they had to adopt new trade skills like sewing and planting and harvesting in order to insure the survival of the group. All these wee learned by cooperating with the native Indians who provided seeds and land to till. What was most important to them besides the basic need to survive was that each and every person in the settlement had an individual connection with God. If i were among the Puritans i would feel like an outsides and overwhelmed because of my own beliefs colliding with theirs and how founded they are in them to the point of stubbornness.
ReplyDeleteThe Purtians never gave up because they always believed in God. God impacted everything the did, their lives, and government. If I was on of them I don't think I would like it at all cause I'm used to having my phone and a world with out technology is not one I want to be apart of. It took them a while to adjust but with the help of Native Americans they got along well.
